Charcoalis the big beauty buzzword for 2017! It's no secret that activated charcoal is considered a powerhouse when it comes to adding a boost to your skincare regimen. So what is it and how does it benefit your skin?
Activated charcoal is carbon that has been treated to increase its absorbency. It can draw dirt and grime from deep within pores, clearing unwanted bacteria, chemicals, dirt and excess oils. The toxins stick to the activated charcoal like a magnet.
It has been proven to absorb thousands of times its own mass in harmful substances, which is why it's become such a popular ingredient in face masks, deep cleansers and detoxifying products. |

Clean body, clean mind, clean skin!
I've been "Clean eating" on and off (mostly on) for over a year now and when I am in the "zone" I feel great! Clean eating and exercise (motivated by my lovely friend and fitness guru Teresa Wall) has been the only way that I have managed to lose weight, tone up and keep the weight off. Taking control of my diet and fitness has resulted in me feeling generally less stressed out and a much happier person!
Then the Summer holidays happened. |

How excited was I to be told by one of my clients that she had just been reading my beauty tips in a magazine!!
A few months ago I was approached by the Deputy Editor of Tesco Magazine asking me to provide expert quotes on a DIY Facial- a treatment that someone could do at home on a Sunday night!
This month, the article came out (sadly my local Tesco doesn't have it in yet) but my client kindly gave me her copy!
So I thought that this month, I would bask in the glory of my article and base my blog on it and add in a few of my favourite products! |

What's in your make-up bag? I have too much make-up for a bag (I'm not boasting I just love make-up!). I have a drawer stuffed with make-up, skin products and samples!! It's a mess....or should I say it was a mess! With Spring in the air, I love nothing more than a good clear out!
The transition from Winter to Spring is a good time to get rid of old, stale make-up and introduce more Spring tones to your make-up collection. It's also a great time to "Get the Glow" back into your skin by freshening up your skincare routine. |

It's FABULOUS FEBRUARY!! Time to show your skin some LOVE!
As a therapist (Dermalogica Skin Expert....thank you very much!) one of the first things I ask my facial clients when they walk into my Beauty Room is; how is your skin? followed by do you have any concerns about your skin? Do you have a skincare routine? What products do you use? Do you exfoliate regularly? If there is a particular issue, what could be causing their current skin care condition? (I sound like some kind of skincare Columbo! |

When I started Beauty Bug nearly seven years ago my goal was to offer clients something
different. An top quality beauty treatment using the best products on the market
at an affordable price. A friendly
relaxed atmosphere for clients to enjoy their "me" time. As a mum of two gorgeous boys I know that enjoying some time out for yourself is very rare! Trying to get to a salon to get some waxing done let alone any nice treatments can be impossible!! I always found that going to salons could be a very impersonal experience mainly because fast staff turnover meant that you rarely saw the same therapist twice and quite often they lacked experience and conversation beyond where I was going on my holiday! |

I met Yasmin of Beauty Bug when I was pregnant with my first
son and I booked a maternity package of treatments. She came to my home and
brought a massage table and all the products for a wonderful afternoon of
pampering. I was heavily pregnant at the time and it made all the difference to
how I was feeling about being so big and not being able to see my own toes.
Even now we joke with my son that she met him when he was still inside Mummy's
tummy.
In the years since I've become a regular and have had pretty
much all the treatments on offer at Beauty Bug. |
