When I started Beauty Bug nearly seven years ago my goal was to offer clients something different. An top quality beauty treatment using the best products on the market at an affordable price. A friendly relaxed atmosphere for clients to enjoy their "me" time. As a mum of two gorgeous boys I know that enjoying some time out for yourself is very rare! Trying to get to a salon to get some waxing done let alone any nice treatments can be impossible!! I always found that going to salons could be a very impersonal experience mainly because fast staff turnover meant that you rarely saw the same therapist twice and quite often they lacked experience and conversation beyond where I was going on my holiday!
Since I started the business, I have built up a lovely loyal client base and my work allows me to work around my family which is perfect! I let my clients guide me as to whether they want to chat or not. Some clients need to have that quiet, calm time and I try to encourage that! There's nothing worse than someone taking incessantly when all you want is peace and quiet to zone out! However I find that most of my clients do like to chat and catch up (with a cuppa) and that's because of the relationship we have built together. This also allows me to tailor treatments to their needs.
I have a small but perfectly formed beauty room in my home which is my little sanctuary. It contains all the things I love about beauty! Nail polish, make-up, skin products, equipment and gadgets.....my own little piece of girly heaven (I live with three boys)!
I offer a large range of treatments and I love performing all of them! I swore that once I started my own business, I never wanted that feeling of dreading work, so I only offer treatments I enjoy doing. I keep my work interesting by keeping up to date with latest trends and research new products on the market. I have trained extensively in skincare and am a Dermalogica Skin Expert. I have also trained with the IIAA (International Institute for Anti-Ageing) and am an authorised stockist of Jane Iredale Skincare Make-up. I am insured and a member of the Guild of Beauty Therapists which is a professional body for Beauty professionals.
My clients come to my Beauty Room because of the service that I offer and the fact that I take time to get to know them and form a relationship with them. I want to keep Beauty Bug as a small, intimate business where clients feel safe knowing that every time they come they will have the same level of care, service and the experience which means that they always leave happy.
